Freeform Chatbot Interface
Taking the existing consumer-facing mobile user journey and translating it to an input-less NLM AI user experience
Hypotheses for Testing
Historically the company’s mobile app structure uses form fields and defined step-by-step progression to gather data on a car accident. Does shifting to a free-form dialogue paradigm enhance and increase the data we can gather from our consumers by making things easier for them?
-
Hand off a working prototype to development & research teams and collaborate with them on determining the build feasibility of an AI dialogue concept for gathering post-accident data
-
Using surveys and usability testing, determine how receptive consumers are to this type of transparent AI user experience
-
Explore new ideas with prototyping and testing that can translate to real, current design items and objectives that can inform the product roadmap for consumer mobile
Final Designs & Artifacts
Micro-interactions with the chat avatar as well as animated affordances were experimented with to provide as much active feedback as possible to the user. Ensuring that the user is communicated with in subtle ways in a feedback loop was the most important part of the UX.
Initial sketches and wireframes were used to flesh out the experience.
The introduction and aesthetics of the experience are really important as the first attempt at warming the user up to a new AI dialogue experience.
